A leader in innovation and technology | Kirsten Jarvi, MS

Kirsten Jarvi is a dynamic force, seamlessly blending her expertise as a dental hygienist with innovation and entrepreneurship. From spearheading tobacco cessation initiatives to revolutionizing the use of dental technology and venturing into sports analytics, her journey exemplifies the transformative potential of passion-driven leadership. Through her diverse accomplishments, Kirsten inspires us to transcend boundaries, ignite change, and leave a lasting impact on industries and communities alike.

Meet Kirsten Jarvi

Kirsten Jarvi has had a very diverse career. She has experience in collaboratively working as a dental hygienist with medical professionals who assisted in helping major league baseball players in quitting spit tobacco during their off season. She played a pivotal role in reducing tobacco usage in California through working with peer-to-peer communication and amongst the youth to communicate the benefits of not using tobacco products. She has always enjoyed working part time in the past as a dental hygienist so that she could follow her other passions in other industries.

Mastering innovative technology

She learned about grant writing, research, and data analytics. She worked with Invisalign as the director of clinical education and with the marketing team. She played a pivotal role in helping the company to bring the use of ITero which allows the user to take digital impressions, into the office. Now the use of digital scanners is the norm in the dental industry, proving helpful to clinicians and the patient.

Elevating diagnostics

She assisted in bringing teledentistry and sales to offices by having a team of dental hygienists who worked remotely with OraPharma. The team educated offices about the products and provided support for offices that didn’t have local representatives in their areas. She built the Salivary Diagnostics salesforce platform with smartphone applications for their mobile team. Their research potentially influenced the grading system that the American Academy of Periodontology uses.

Passion and future directions

As a sports enthusiast, she began working as sports analytics and helping venture capitalists start the national women’s soccer league, Bay City Club. Kristen is an excellent example of how a dental hygienist can influence several industries and fulfill monumental roles by bringing about change in the lives of others. Her passion for technology, sports, and the human spirit is infectious. I encourage all to connect further with her as she has so many pearls of wisdom to share with us.
